My name is Rhonda Roach, and I am honored to be in my 4th year as principal at George Whitten Elementary School! GWE is an excellent school with exceptional students, teachers, staff, parents, and community. I look forward to working with all stakeholders at Whitten this year. We are extremely proud to state that George Whitten Elementary exhibited great growth as evidenced by our 2015 TCAP scores. Whitten Elementary received a level of “5” in every tested area, which is quite an accomplishment!!!
After graduating from Tennessee State University, my teaching career began at Rucker-Stewart Middle School in Gallatin, as an 8th grade math teacher. I then taught at the former Union 5th, before moving to Benny Bills Elementary upon its completion. During my time at Bills, I received my Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision. After teaching 5th grade for seven years at Bills, I served as the Assistant Principal there for three years before being named Principal at George Whitten in 2012.
My husband and I are lifelong residents of Sumner County and live in Gallatin. We are the proud parents of three children, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law. In October of 2014, we became grandparents to an amazing little girl, who is now the center of our world!! We enjoy family time and Titans football, especially the wins!
